A four-member committee formed to probe the deaths of tigers in the Dudhwa Tiger Reserve (DTR) in Uttar Pradesh that took place between May 21 and June 9 has submitted its report and suggested measures to avoid such incidents in the future.

The committee, which believed there was "no foul play" linked the deaths to "fighting" between animals.
The committee further suggested that there is a need for forest guards to monitor and patrol to prevent such incidents, claiming that 70% of the sanctioned posts of forest guards are vacant while 50% of posts of forest guards are also vacant.
